DISCOVERY PARK | OCTOBER 18-20, 2024

GETTING TO GOLDENSKY

Discovery Park is located where the American River meets the Sacramento River. The beautiful 302-acre park is located adjacent to I-5 in downtown Sacramento. Fans will enter the festival on the north side of Discovery Park at the Garden Highway entrance or the Jibboom Street entrance from the south.

Festival parking is not available within Discovery Park during GoldenSky. Camping is also not allowed. In an effort to limit the amount of vehicles around the festival, we ask you to consider the convenient transportation options outlined on this page.

Subject to change. Updated map coming soon.

PARK AND RIDE SHUTTLE

The most convenient way to get to Discovery Park for GoldenSky is to use the convenient Park & Ride Shuttle program! GoldenSky is pleased to announce the location of the 2024 program will be at Cal Expo located at 1600 Exposition Blvd in Sacramento.   Each Park & Ride Shuttle Pass includes free parking for your vehicle at Cal Expo and a non-stop shuttle to and from the festival site.

On event days, shuttles will begin service approximately 60 minutes prior to the gate opening time. Shuttles will run continuously throughout the day with limited service between 5:30pm-8:30pm. Shuttles will run approximately 75 minutes after the end of the festival each night. Note: Accessible shuttle services will be available at all times throughout the event for paid shuttle pass holders.

Park and ride shuttle passes are sold daily and for the weekend. Each shuttle rider needs their own pass for all rides. Buy your park and ride passes in advance to ensure your convenient ride to and from GoldenSky!

RIDESHARE and TAXIS

There are two designated GoldenSky Ride Share Lots. One is located on the south side of Discovery Park on 500 Bercut Drive. Please follow the information on your ride share app and designated signage around the park. 500 Bercut Drive can be used for all drop-off and pick-ups for the festival including taxis and hotel drop offs.

A newly added Ride Share area is also available on the north side of Discovery Park. It is located on W. El Camino between Natomas Park Dr and Millcreek Rd. Simply walk along Natomas Park Dr to W. El Camino and then turn right. Please follow information on your ride share app to the ‘Garden Highway Pickup’ and designated signage around the park.

BIKE PARKING

Discovery Park is located along the Jedediah Smith Bike Trail and getting to the festival by bike is fun, convenient and encouraged! GoldenSky has again partnered Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates to provide a complimentary bike valet located near the Jibboom Street entrance. The bike valet will accept all active transportation vehicles including bikes, skateboards and scooters. and will be watched throughout the entire event. If you choose to “self-park” your bike, it is at your own risk. The bike valet will open approx 90 minutes prior to gate opening time each day.

A WORD ABOUT PARKING

If you do drive, GoldenSky greatly encourages carpooling as much as possible. There will be a limited amount of paid parking available for fans in designated areas surrounding the park. Parking will become available to purchase closer to the event. PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS THESE LOTS VIA GARDEN HIGHWAY.

NOTE: The festival does not manage any of these lots. All parking is at your own risk.

GoldenSky asks everyone to be a “good neighbor” and be respectful of the residents living near Discovery Park and use designated parking areas only.

ADA PARKING

Limited parking for patrons with disabilities will be available at the event, for a daily fee (card only). Patrons with proper ADA vehicle credentials will be directed to park in the ADA Lot near the Jibboom Street festival entrance. Please follow the signage and the direction of festival staff and police to access this parking area. ADA parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. You must have a valid state issued Disabled Person Parking placard, permit, or license plate – as well as proof it belongs to you for entry into the ADA Parking Lot. Lots will open at 10 a.m. daily.

Due to the egress of patrons at the end of the event, vehicles parked in the ADA lot will be held in place until the pedestrian traffic has cleared. This can be as long as 45 minutes after the end of the festival. No exceptions are made to exit, so please plan accordingly if you park in the ADA parking lot.

The Park & Ride Shuttle will offer accessible shuttles and are another option for fans with disabilities.

SMF Airport

To ensure a smooth experience, all travelers are encouraged to be prepared by staying on top of communication from their airlines and packing their patience when arriving at SMF. Here are a few additional tips for travelers:

When to arrive at the airport
One of the best ways to save time before a flight is to make plans to arrive ahead of time. SMF recommends that travelers arrive at least 2.5 hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight.  SMF is expecting many customers to use the Rental Car Center, so please allow additional time if you are dropping off a car

Parking at SMF
Anyone planning to drive their own vehicle to the airport should plan to navigate directly available lots. Extra signage and staffing will be provided onsite to help with navigation.

The garage and hourly lots are expected to fill quickly as demand exceeds capacity. Fortunately, travelers can check how many spots are available in real-time on the Airport’s Parking Status Webpage.

Shuttle service to and from the parking lots can also take more time during peak hours. Shuttle service is provided at 25–30-minute intervals. It can take 60 minutes from the time you park until the time you arrive at the terminal.

For additional questions about parking at SMF, please email air-parking@saccounty.gov
Rideshare/public transportation is recommended

Travelers are also strongly advised to consider getting dropped off by friends/family, taking public transportation, or using a taxi or app-based ride sharing.
Public Transportation: Sacramento Regional Transit District’s route 142 runs express service between the airport and downtown seven days a week. YoloBus also offers daily routes throughout the region.

App-Based Ridesharing: Lyft, Uber and Wingz all service SMF and have designated areas for pickup at both terminals.

Taxis: Taxi service is provided by the Sacramento Independent Taxi Owners Association. Travelers can make reservations by calling 916-444-0008. Taxis can be found outside of baggage claims at both terminals. Visit this link for more information about parking lot options and rates at SMF.
